1. Why We Have This Policy
Artificial intelligence tools are now widely used across the web. Most websites use them in some capacity, but few are upfront about it.
We believe transparency builds trust. This policy explains how we use AI at SAPgen, what we use it for, and the safeguards we have in place to ensure that everything we publish is accurate, helpful and genuinely informed by professional experience.
2. Human Expertise Comes First
All content published on SAPgen is created by Ian Kay, an Elmhurst accredited energy assessor with hands-on construction experience. The knowledge, opinions and technical guidance on this website come from real professional practice, not from AI models.
Ian is responsible for:
- Deciding what topics to cover and what advice to give
- Providing the technical knowledge and industry insight behind every article
- Reviewing and approving all content before it is published
- Ensuring accuracy and relevance to current Building Regulations
If something is published on this website, a qualified human has written, reviewed and approved it.
3. How We Use AI Tools
We use AI tools to assist with tasks where they add genuine value, while keeping human expertise at the centre of the process:
- Research and fact-checking: AI helps us quickly locate technical references, cross-check regulatory details and identify areas that need clarification.
- Drafting and editing: AI may assist with structuring content, improving clarity and catching errors. The substance and accuracy are always verified by Ian.
- Formatting and layout: AI tools help with code, styling and repetitive tasks that do not require professional judgement.
We do not use AI to generate content from scratch and publish it without review. Every article, guide and page on this site reflects genuine expertise and human oversight.
4. Technical Services Are Human-Delivered
Our core services, including SAP Calculations, Part O Overheating Assessments and EPC production, are carried out by qualified, accredited assessors using approved industry software. These are not AI-generated outputs.
When you instruct SAPgen to produce a SAP Calculation or compliance report, the work is completed by a real person who holds the relevant professional accreditation and takes responsibility for the accuracy of the results.
5. Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- Using AI as a tool to support human expertise, not replace it
- Being honest about how content is created
- Ensuring all published material is reviewed by a qualified professional
- Keeping technical services in the hands of accredited assessors
- Updating this policy if our use of AI changes significantly
If you have questions about how we use AI or how our content is produced, please get in touch.
6. Policy Updates
AI technology is evolving rapidly. We will update this policy as our practices develop or as industry standards change.
